- ITINERARY
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MARRAKECH
You’ll be met on arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport by a local representative and transferred to your riad. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and explore at your own pace. A visit to Jemaa el-Fnaa square — the bustling heart of the old city — is a great way to begin. Consider dining at one of the many rooftop restaurants overlooking the square before heading back to your riad for the night.
DAY 2: MARRAKECH → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → AIT BEN HADDOU → OUARZAZATE → DADES VALLEY
Your desert journey begins with a pick-up from your riad. The road heads south through the High Atlas Mountains, with photo stops at Berber villages and panoramic viewpoints along the way.
Lunch is served in Ait Ben Haddou, where you’ll have time to explore the UNESCO-listed fortified village that has appeared in many internationally famous productions. After a short stop in Ouarzazate — and an optional visit to one of Africa’s largest film studios — the route continues through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Gorges. On arrival, you’ll see the striking “monkey fingers” rock formations and panoramic views of the valley before checking in to your hotel for dinner and the night.
Approximate driving distance: 353 km
Approximate driving time: 6 hours 30 minutes
DAY 3: DADES VALLEY → TODRA CANYON → MERZOUGA DESERT
After breakfast, the drive continues along the Dades and Todra rivers, through palm groves and Berber villages, until you reach the Todra Gorge in Tinghir — one of Morocco’s most spectacular canyons.
On the way to Merzouga, your guide may suggest an optional stop at a traditional Berber shop where you can try on Berber clothing and take photos at no cost. Any purchases are entirely optional, and you’re welcome to skip the stop.
On arrival in Merzouga, a camel ride takes you into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset and sandboarding. As night falls, you’ll settle into your luxury desert camp for dinner, drumming around the campfire, and a long night beneath the stars.
Approximate driving distance: 310 km
Approximate driving time: 5 hours
DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT → AGDEZ → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → MARRAKECH
After breakfast at the camp, the return drive to Marrakech begins via the scenic Draa Valley — Morocco’s longest — with a panoramic stop in Agdez to admire the valley’s vast palm groves.
Lunch is served in Ouarzazate before the road climbs back over the High Atlas Mountains and descends toward Marrakech, where your driver will drop you off at your riad in the early evening.
Approximate driving distance: 560 km
Approximate driving time: 9 hours
DAY 5: EXPLORE MARRAKECH
After breakfast at your riad, a local guide will show you the highlights of the old city: Jemaa el-Fnaa, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, and the Koutoubia Mosque. After lunch, you’ll stroll through the more modern side of Marrakech and visit the exquisite Majorelle Garden — a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city.
If your onward flight is today, we’ll provide a smooth transfer to the airport, marking the end of your 5 day Marrakech itinerary.
